Tea Party to rally at State House on tax day
Gov. Mark Sanford will speak at the event, as will Republican gubernatorial candidate state Rep. Nikki Haley, GOP Superintendent of Education candidate Kelly Payne and House 79 candidate Sherri Few.
Rally organizer Allen Olson said candidate appearances should not be viewed as an endorsement.
Last year several thousand people gathered to oppose federal spending, deficits and other policies. Olson said the goal this year is to pressure the state Senate to approve a bill mandating all Legislative votes are recorded.
The bill, introduced by Haley, was approved in the House last week.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 15 at the State House.
