Wasserman Schultz: ‘Dozens’ of Countries Back U.S. on Syria

Binders full of Countries? No countries by the dozen will back up Obama’s military action

DNC bulldog chairwomen Debbie Wasserman Schultz says ‘Dozens’ of Countries will Backup U.S. Action in Syria, but its a super special secret which countries.

debbie-wasserman-schultzAs the Syrian civil war grows more violent with each day, on Monday evening Wolf Blitzer hosted a special Labor Day edition of “Piers Morgan Live,” with the entire program dedicated to the situation in the Middle Eastern country.

Filling in for Piers Morgan, Blizter asked Debbie Wasserman Schultz why it seems that the United States is often the only country risking the lives of its own people by engaging militarily.

“There are other countries,” revealed the Democratic Congresswoman from Florida. “From the briefings that I’ve received, there are dozens of countries who are going to stand with the United States, who will engage with us on military action, and also, that back us up.”

Pressing for more information, Blitzer asked his guest “which countries will use their military power to attack targets inside Syria.”

Choosing her words carefully, Wasserman Schultz noted that such information is something she is “not at liberty to say, some of what I’ve learned is classified, some is unclassified.”

However, the Chair of the Democratic National Committee did share one critical piece of information:

“What I can tell you is that there are many nations who have committed to support the United States in our action,” she told Blitzer. “In both military and diplomatic and political support, there are dozens of nations who have commited to back us up. That’s what I’m at liberty to say.”
