The $400 Million winning Powerball Jackpot ticket has been sold in Lexington, South Carolina at the Murphy Express station on Augusta Road. The winning numbers are 7 – 10 – 22 – 32 – 35 and Powerball 19. This Powerball win marks the largest payout in South Carolina Education Lottery history.
Armstrong advises the winner, who has yet to step forward, to sign the back of the ticket, put it in a safe place, notify financial and legal advice, and come forward to claim the ticket.
Call the number to the gas station, and you get a busy signal. Most likely people calling to ask who the winner is. Or congratulating the owner on the cool $50,000 he’ll be pocketing for selling the ticket.
Wednesday’s haul was the fourth largest lottery price in U.S. history.
The biggest payload in American history was $665 million in the Mega Millions game in March 2012. The greatest Powerball jackpot was the $590.5 million won with a single ticket in Florida this past May.
But $400 million, with a cash value of $223 million, is still pretty sweet.
Someone’s calling in sick this morning. That, you can bet on.
There will be a press conference at the Murphy Express 4873 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 at 11 a.m today. One may call the station for details at (803) 358-0190
